Ryan Berg Chosen to Present Report on Tools Used in Software Security Assurance

Waltham, MA, March 1, 2007 –  Ounce Labs,  the leader in software security assurance, today announced that Chief Scientist and co-founder, Ryan Berg will present a report on “The Role of Tools in Maximizing Software Security Assurance” at the Department of Homeland Security/ Department of Defense Software Assurance Forum in Fairlakes, VA on March 8, 2007.

“With numerous tools performing a variety of functions in today’s software security arena, it is sometimes difficult to determine what an organization actually needs,” said Berg. “Our extensive work with government agencies in particular, has shown that by examining the threats and security risks, particularly surrounding data privacy, government and industry security professionals can target their particular system’s strengths and vulnerabilities.”

Berg has over 15 years’ experience in software development and project management, and leads the design and implementation of Ounce Labs’ suite of products.  He has patents pending in multi-language security assessment, kernel-level security, intermediary security assessment language, and secure remote communication protocols.

The DHS/DOD Software Assurance Forum is to be held at the Hyatt Hotel in Fairlakes, VA on March 8-9, 2007.  The intent of the Forum is to bring together members of Government, industry, and academia with vested interests in software security to discuss and promulgate best practices and methodologies that promote integrity, security, and reliability in software.
