OUNCE LABS FOUNDER AND CTO JACK DANAHY TO PRESENT AT SECUREGOV 2008 SYMPOSIUM

Update to Best-Selling Book Provides Best Methods for Solving C# Programming Problems

What:
Jack Danahy, founder and CTO
for Ounce Labs, the industry leader in software risk analysis, will present a session titled “Creating a Security-Aware Acquisitions Process” at the SecureGOV 2008 Symposium this week.

Session Overview:
When considering the risk associated with the acquisition of software, either from a vendor or an outsourcer, there are several overriding security issues that arise. All of these concerns require careful planning, execution and monitoring to verify that they are addressed prior to acceptance of the software. With growing emphasis on the need for application security, organizations are beginning to explicitly identify the security requirements of an outsourced project up front, and writing acceptance criteria into the contract itself to ensure the security of the source code.

Where:
The symposium is being held on March 9– 11th at the Williamsburg Woodlands Hotel & Suites in Williamsburg, Va.

When:
Mr. Danahy will present on Sunday, March 9th at 1:00 p.m.

Speaker:
Jack Danahy is founder and chief technology officer of Ounce Labs as well as one of the industry’s most prominent advocates for software security assurance. Prior to Ounce Labs, he founded Qiave Technologies, a pioneer in kernel-level security that was acquired by WatchGuard Technologies in October of 2000. Previously, Danahy served as the managing director of engineering for BBN/Genuity's managed security services.
